Frequently asked questions
-
How do I generate an itch.io API key?
- Sign in to itch.io/user/settings/api-keys in any browser.
- Click Generate new API key and give it a name like "Indie Revenue iOS".
- Copy the long key string that appears.
- Open Indie Revenue on your iPhone, tap Sign In, and paste the key.
The key is stored securely on your phone and is sent only to itch.io. It is never seen by PT ITropical. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

What does "Possible Refund" mean?
itch.io does not expose a dedicated refunds endpoint to creators. Indie Revenue detects refunds heuristically: between two on-device snapshots, if your total purchase count for a game has decreased while download count has not, that's a strong signal that a paid copy was refunded.
It's called Possible Refund because the signal is inferred, not authoritative. The actual refund record lives on itch.io's side. You can dismiss any signal you've reviewed; once dismissed, the same one won't be surfaced again.

My widget shows "No data". What now?
Widgets read from the local cache that the main app populates. If you just installed Indie Revenue, the widget needs the main app to do at least one successful sync first.
- Open the main app at least once and let it finish loading your games.
- Return to your Home Screen. The widget should refresh within a few seconds.
- If it still shows "No data" after 30 seconds, long-press the widget and tap Edit, then re-select your game. This re-binds the widget to the cached snapshot.
- If the problem persists, sign out and back in via Settings to force a clean re-sync.
-
How do I switch to a different itch.io account?
Open Settings inside Indie Revenue and tap Sign Out. This clears the stored API key and the local cache. Then sign in again with the new account's API key (see the first FAQ entry for how to generate one).
Indie Revenue does not support multiple simultaneous accounts. Switching is a clean out / in cycle.

Pro vs Free — what do I get?
Free includes the live overview, Home and Lock-Screen widgets, and Game-Jam-Mode for up to 3 games. Most solo creators stay on Free indefinitely.
Pro ($4.99/month or $39.99 lifetime) adds:
- Unlimited games tracked.
- Refund-alert push notifications.
- Tax-year CSV export for bookkeeping.
- Extended history (full 90-day rolling snapshot retention).
Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for the lifetime of the app on the App Store — see Terms of Use §4 for the precise wording.
-
How do I cancel my Pro Monthly subscription?
Apple handles all subscription management. Open iOS Settings → Apple ID (your name at the top) → Subscriptions, find Indie Revenue Pro, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf — only Apple can.
-
How do I request a refund?
Refunds go through Apple, not through us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Indie Revenue purchase, and request a refund. Apple's policy at support.apple.com governs eligibility.
See Terms of Use §5 for the full refund clause.
-
Does Indie Revenue work for non-itch.io stores (Steam, Gumroad, etc.)?
Not today. The app is built exclusively around itch.io's REST API. Adding other stores is on the long-term roadmap but is not committed.
-
Can I use Indie Revenue on iPad or Mac?
The app ships for iPhone. iPad and Mac (via Catalyst or native) are not supported in the initial release, but the universal binary may be expanded in a future update.
